Goals of a Security System
Why have a Home Safe?

Goals of a complete protection system

The first goal of a security system is to provide a deterrent to the criminal before they even attempt a break in. Posting signs and stickers on windows and doors plus the visibility of High security locks and cameras, we try to inform the criminal this place is not an easy target.

The second goal of the system is to keep them out of the building. Glass breaks and perimeter instant on contacts sound when the criminal tries to breach the building. This attempts to keep the criminal outside and minimize the damage to the building and contents.

The third goal of the system is to catch the criminal who get inside the building. This utilizes the motion sensors. These activate when movement is picked up in the building. This is the least desirable result as the criminal could have already done significant damage just in the entering of the building.  Also once in the building the criminal knows he has a certain amount of time (90 seconds to 3 minutes) to grab as much as they can and escape. This time gap is time it takes the security system to notify the authorities and authorities to respond. This is where a video recording system comes in.  It can provide the identification to nab that person if they happen to get inside. The video system also can combat shoplifters and other opportunistic criminals who might strike during working hours.

Additional sensors can be added to most systems to provide protection against.

  1. Water damage-a hot water heater blow out or sump pump failure.

  2. Temperature drop- if your heating system fails it can alert you before pipes freeze.

  3. Medical panic-if you have fallen and can not get up.

  4. Internet access-check the status of your system online, view video in real time or review a specific time.
